Kim Parker

Hey, I’m Kim, although around the office they’ve always called me KP.

My story is a little different. I started in real estate by owning and managing rental properties around the University of Alabama. Over time, that evolved into buying and selling homes and flipping houses. I’ve always loved taking something that may need a little work and making it better. If I’m being completely honest, though, I originally got into real estate because I wanted the access to more homes! I passed my real estate exam and was the valedictorian of my class. I think I got that drive and determination from my parents.

But my story with real estate began to change as I became more involved with my clients. You get to know people, you learn about their families, and before long, those client relationships become genuine friendships. That has been one of the greatest gifts of being in this business.

And speaking of gifts, here’s where my heart really is: my family.

I’m married to Jamie Parker, and we just celebrated our 40th anniversary. We have two wonderful children, James and Britt.

Our son, James, works in the banking industry here in Tuscaloosa. Our daughter, Britt, will soon be moving back to Tuscaloosa—and I guess the secret is finally out! She is married to Kelly Johnson, and together they have given us the most precious gifts of all: our grandchildren, Suki, Nina, and Dash. I’m known as KK to them, and I couldn’t be more proud or more blessed to be their grandmother.

But my family story doesn’t end there.

I was born into the best family I could have ever asked for. I’m the middle of five girls, and my sisters are truly my best friends. I’ve always told my parents that my sisters were the greatest gifts they ever gave me. That bond is something I treasure more than I can put into words.

As for real estate, it’s an ever-changing business, but one thing has always stayed true: As my daddy used to tell me, “They don’t make any more of it.”
