Richard Ellis, Jr. is Owner and Broker of Advantage Realty. Richard has been with the group over twenty years, and knows that buying or selling a home is exciting, but complicated. It can also be costly if you don’t have expert guidance and advice—both of which he can provide. His wealth of experience can save you time, money and stress while making the whole process easier and more enjoyable.

Though he was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Richard is a bona fide Alabamian! He has been a Tuscaloosa resident since 1974, attended the University of Alabama and is a graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery. He’s also a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa, and serves as the Alumni Advisor for Kappa Alpha at the University of Alabama.
Rich and his wife, the former Shelly Smith of Selma, are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters, Sarah Kyser, Reynolds, and Isabella. A tireless supporter of the Tuscaloosa community, he has served on numerous boards and committees, continuing his unwavering support of Tuscaloosa’s First United Methodist Church, Youth For Christ, the NorthRiver Yacht Club, Capstone Bank and many other area organizations and businesses.

In addition to his involvement in real estate and the University of Alabama, Richard is an avid golfer, hunter and CrossFitter—but spending time with his family is his greatest joy, and his first priority.
